EKASIL to implement Thailand's first industrial plant for silica production from rice husk
Although the concept of extracting silica from rice husk (or even rice husk ash) is not new, most techniques and methods are still in the research paper stage.
However, at EKASIL, the technology to extract silica from rice husk has been successfully scaled up, proven, and industrially tested. The initial production will be 50 tons per month. The plant is located in Suphanburi Province, one of the largest rice-producing provinces in the central part of Thailand.
In terms of investment, the technology can generate an IRR of up to 27 percent within a three-year payback period, based on the business calculations derived from actual production.
